Vesper at night
261 CATS & COUNTING ///// In December 2008 I started taking cellphone pictures of my friend's cats and before I knew it I had enough pictures to start a website. Six years later I've met cats all over these United States from New York to San Francisco. Now, let's meet the cats...
Sam (Cat #237) & Charlie (Cat #257) hanging out downstairs.
#261 Yet another backyard cat | Cleveland Hts., Ohio
I saw this guy hanging out on the back porch looking for scraps left behind by Bruni and her kittens. He let me pet him for a little while. He’s gotta be the 10th cat to take up residence in my backyard in the last 3 years. Reminds me of my childhood cat, Rocky.
There’s kittens in my basement! It’s happening!
This squirrel was sleeping on my roof. Too cute. Although Vesper didn’t find it amusing at all.
#260 Night Cat | Mentor, Ohio
This little creeper came slinking out of nowhere to check me out. Cats just find me.
#259 Outdoor Cat | Painesville, Ohio
This kitty was stalking a field mouse or something as I rolled past… stiff as a statue.
#258 Bruni’s Kitten 3 | Cleveland Hts., Ohio
Here it is, this is the one I want. This is the last of Bruni’s (Cat #231) litter to add to the site. This little guy is the runt and the most skittish. If I don’t catch him soon he’ll be too old / too feral to socialize with Vesper.
#257 Charlie | Cleveland Hts., Ohio
Charlie lives downstairs from me with Sam (Cat #237). He’s kinda shy but still wants to hang out. Pretty good disposition over all! Sam butted in and ate his food after I fed them both.
This Buffalo, New York cat needs your help to become a wizard.
#256 Bruni’s Kitten 2 | Cleveland Hts., Ohio
This is the 2nd of Bruni’s (Cat #231) three kittens (Cat #253). They’ve been hanging around in my backyard for a little over a month now but man are they hard to photograph let alone catch. Sooner or later my landlord, Ilze, and I will catch them and find them all homes.
#255 Country Cat | Chesterland, Ohio
Jane and I were driving past this abandoned nursery when we noticed a black cat on the prowl in the field. She led us on a chase for a little while but decided to plop down for some affection. She seems to be doing pretty well for an outdoor country cat. Maybe she has a home down the road, she didn’t look malnourished.
Mr. Billington has been getting in some kitten time with MUB. I need one of those.
#254 Baby | Cleveland, Ohio
My friend Hannah (who does pet portraits) has been buggin me to come meet her kitty for a while now. What a little lover. Baby is a VERY vocal little black cat, in practically every photo I took of her she was mouth open, crying. Hannah rescued her from a life on the streets of Colinwood. I haven’t done a proper cat profile in years, so here’s Baby’s stats…
Cat #254: Baby
Met: July 2nd, 2014
Birthday: April 2013 (Baby shares her birthday with Hannah’s family poodle, Chelsea)
Lives in: Little Italy, Cleveland, Ohio
Caretaker: Hannah Davis
Loves: Her toy Mousey, Hair scrunchies, Almond milk, Cindy Davis (Hannah’s Mom)
Hates: Fire, Cold canned cat food, Ben Weathers (Hannah’s roommate)
#253 Bruni’s Kitten 1 | Cleveland Hts., Ohio
This is one of Bruni’s (Cat #231) three kittens living in my backyard. They started showing up for food about a week ago, I see this little kitty the most. One kitten is orange, one is marbled black and one is all black. My landlord, Ilze, and I are going to attempt to catch them all, get them spayed / neutered and find them homes. Ilze might keep the mother cat. I am looking to grip the black kitten as a companion for Vesper. Fingers crossed!
